Construction of the Futerra plant in Portugal in progress
The construction of the first commercial torrefaction plant based on Yilkins technology in Portugal is progressing according to plan. Yilkins will deliver its torrefaction concept resulting in six separate torrefaction lines, each with an output capacity of 20.000 tons torrefied pellets. Phased commissioning of the lines is scheduled to commence mid this year. The Futerra plant will produce in total 120.000 tons torrified pellets and 55.000 tons of regular industrial white pellets. Long term off take contract are signed with European energy companies.
